Achievements as a faculty:

Dr. Misra’s teaching experience spans over 41 years. The teaching activities include bedside teaching on all clinical service days, postgraduate case presentations, seminars, clinical grand rounds, and didactic lectures.

Trained more than 25 postgraduate and PhD candidates in innovative projects and research proposals.
Started National level CME programs in Internal Medicine in AIIMS.
Instrumental in starting the formal objective assessment of post graduate students that was later formalized in the form of an instruction book.

Dr. Misra received the Dr BC Roy award for his invaluable contributions in the field of teaching.

Dr. Misra has served as an honorary physician to two Indian Prime Ministers and has given numerous award lectures.

Dr Misra has been participant of top Advisory Committees relating to Diabetes and Cardiovascular diseases. He has been in advisory board member of National Program for Cancer, Diabetes, and CVD. He has been a member of World Health Organization Expert Group of Childhood Obesity and Indian Council of Medical Research Expert Groups for Childhood Obesity, Fatty Liver, Diabetes, and Gestational Diabetes. He has been a Member, Technical Advisory Group on Adolescent Health, Ministry of Health, Governing Committee National Institute of Nutrition, National Nutrition Monitoring Bureau, and Expert Committee for Drugs Controller General of India. He has also been member of National Drug Technology Committee, and National Task Force on Male Fertility.

He is Editor-in-Chief of “Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome: Clinical Research and Reviews” (Elsevier), and Clinical Keys (Elsevier), and Associate Editor of “Journal of Diabetes” (USA), and European Journal of Clinical Nutrition (UK). Dr Misra has received numerous awards and 31 named orations. He has been awarded highest award for medicine in India Dr BC Roy award (2006) and India’s prestigious National Honor, Padma Shree (2007). He has received “Outstanding Investigator Award” from World India Diabetes Foundation in 2013. His current interest include research on nutrition, metabolism, and diabetes in relation to liver fat, pancreatic fat, lean skeletal muscle mass and vitamin D.

Dr. Misra was declared “Pharma Leaders Indian of the Year – Endocrinology” by the Pharma Leaders Group in India at the 11th Annual Pharmaceutical Leadership Summit & Pharma Leaders Business Leadership Awards 2018

He is author of bestselling books “Diabetes with Delight” and “Diabetes ke Saath Khushaal Jeevan” (Bloomsbury).
